An Innovative Approach to IVs

Walk into any hospital room and you’ll see that most patients have a tube inserted in their arm or the back of their hand, hooked up to a bag or bottle hung on a stand. These IVs contain sterile water plus dextrose or saline and are used primarily to keep patients hydrated.

Walk into the Whitaker Wellness Institute and you’ll see patients with similar IVs relaxing in recliners. Our IVs contain sterile water too, but they also contain vitamin C—and they’re used to get patients well.

IV Vitamin C: Safe, Proven, and Highly Effective

We’ve been using IV vitamin C for 20 years, and I would estimate that we’ve administered more than a million infusions during that time with excellent, sometimes astounding results. For example, Mary B., who was recently seen at the clinic, was worn down with chronic fatigue, despite having tried many different therapeutic approaches. After 10 IV vitamin C treatments, she is back to her old self. Mary P., who has battled hepatitis for several years, has watched her viral load drop steadily with regular infusions. Harold, who was hit hard with this year’s particularly nasty flu virus, was completely well after two IV drips.

Put Healing Into High Gear

IV vitamin C has a 60+ year track record of safe and successful clinical use and is supported by thousands of scientific studies. It provides a constant infusion of antioxidants and replaces exhausted stores of this crucial antioxidant.

It expedites healing. This nutrient is a key factor in the synthesis of collagen, the structural matrix of skin, bones, cartilage, and other tissues. Collagen forms scar tissue, knits bones, and promotes the growth of new blood vessels to nourish damaged areas. Without adequate levels of vitamin C, collagen production falters and the healing process slows down.

Vitamin C also bolsters the body’s immune system. Studies have shown that it increases the number of natural killer cells (frontline fighters that attack infected and cancerous cells) and interferon (which promotes antiviral activity) and enhances the activity of other immune cells. Furthermore, vitamin C has direct antibacterial and antiviral activity.

High Doses Are Highly Therapeutic

High-dose IV vitamin C is an excellent treatment for cancer, polio, shingles, AIDS, tuberculosis, Lyme disease, hepatitis, Epstein-Barr virus, strep and staph infections, and dozens of other infectious diseases. This therapy also neutralizes toxins (it is sometimes called “the ultimate antidote”) and can save the lives of patients with acute poisoning from alcohol, acetaminophen (Tylenol), barbiturates, or other drugs. In addition, it lessens the toxic effects of chemo and radiation therapy, carbon monoxide poisoning, and exposure to deadly pesticides and chemicals.

The benefits of intravenous vitamin C sound almost too good to be true, and this may be a reason (coupled with an extreme bias against vitamins) why conventional medicine refuses to embrace it. Yet it is there in black and white in the medical literature. IV vitamin C, even at doses as high as 100 g daily, is very safe and highly effective. At present, however, if you want to pursue this therapy, you’ll have to find a doctor’s office that offers it.
